Designed by Maxim Velčovský – these vases are both simple and complex. Pretty much exactly in line with the studio’s reputation for non-conventional, playful designs, these pieces are part of a larger collection of vases, all of which are modelled after consumer products commonly found in supermarkets worldwide. These everyday shapes are executed in plain porcelain and tastefully decorated, thus bringing two worlds together – that of consumerism and that of design. These quirky vases are perfect for displaying fresh flowers.
Maxim is a designer, lecturer and – without a doubt – the face of Czech design today. Together with Jakub Berdych, he co-founded Qubus Design Studio in 2002, and already their first collection was a great success. In 2007, he was named a Designer of the year at the Czech Grand Design Awards. He left Qubus in 2011 and has been working as a creative director of Lasvit ever since.
